Julep-Jenny’s Mint Julep
TIPS:
- If you are shooting for convenience, try infusing a simple sugar syrup with mint ahead of time. It will save time (and mess) from drunken muddling.
- Shop early for the mint leaves. They WILL sell out in the stores!
- Kid-friendly alternative: Mint Iced Tea with mint sprig garnish
INGREDIENTS:
- 4-6 Mint Leaves
- 2 Sugar Cubes
- 4 oz. Bourbon
- Mint Sprig for Garnish
PREPARATION:
- Place the ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
- Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and to release the oil and aroma of the mint.
- Add ice cubes to the shaker.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a julep cup or colling glass with ice cubes
- Garnish with a mint sprig.
