AN EXACTA is picking the first and second place horses, in order, in the same race (“1st, 2nd exactly”). They HAVE to come in that order.

A TRIFECTA is picking the first, second and third place horses in order. Any other way and you lose.

BOXING IT!
Just like in the lottery, you can BOX the EXACTA or TRIFECTA. Boxing lets you name the horses that will be the first 2 or 3 to cross the finish line, without being concerned with their order.

However, when you BOX it, you pay more to win less.

A DAILY DOUBLE is picking the winner of two consecutive races (usually the first 2 races is the EARLY Daily Double and the last 2 races are the LATE Daily Double).

You MUST read the program. Exotic bets are not always offered every race.

• EXACTAS are always offered.
• TRIFECTAS are usually offered.
• DOUBLES are almost always the first 2 and last 2, none other. The teller can tell you.
